Rooms description
Sleeping at Cortina d’Ampezzo has never been “greener”: you are simply steeped in nature.
Depending on the materials utilized, the 8 rooms take on differing colours and atmospheres. The five rooms outside the “Locanda” are arranged along a single winding corridor.
The corridor has a communicating access to the casa cantoniera, although all 5 rooms are independent and each has its own terrace. Their style explicitly harks back to the local brites, the constructions utilized at one time by local shepherds for shelter from the elements.
The woods selected for the furnishings, larch and pinus cembra, are totally free of varnishes and solvents, and are taken directly from the Natural Park.
The first room, the “Volcano” room, with its dominant colours of red and anthracite grey, evokes the era of alpine orogenesis; the second, the “Glacier” room, has a colour scheme and furnishings reminiscent of this mountain feature; the wall linings and flooring of the third room are testimony to its name, the “Rock and scree” room; likewise the “Lakes” and “Meadows” rooms.
The last three rooms of the Locanda are dedicated to “Water”, “Snow” and “Sunrises and Sunsets”, the last one in honour of the magical enrosadira, whereby the Monti Pallidi are tinged with a unique array of red and pink shades at sunrise and sunset.
